More Info

Water Lettuce is one of the perennial favorites among pond keepers. Its ability to filter water and its unusual appearance make it a fitting addition to any medium sized to large pond setting. In smaller ponds or barrels it tends to overwhelm its tankmates. Its leaves are thick, fuzzy, and gray-green. The leaves form a rosette on the water surface. The plants produce runners in all directions and eventually form colonies wherever they are able to sit undisturbed. The flowers are insignificant. Masses of roots extending down into the water are outstanding water filteration aids. ***Sorry, but we can't ship this item to Texas, Florida.***

Water Lettuce
By Kelly Walker
The water lettuce arrived minus the roots and just like the instructions said, don't worry about that, it is normal. The lettuce took off growing rapidly and spreading via offshootsand I regualrly have to cull it to keep it from covering more than the desired surface area.

Hornwort
By Kelly Walker
Ignore the last review, I posted the wrong one, that was for Parrott's Feather. I put the Hornwort in the water where it sank below the surface and I kinda forgot about it because my water was murky at the time. After I got the water cleared up I was amazed that the Hornwort was everwhere and in great abundance after 3-4 weeks. I had to pull out a lot of it, there was so much. I regularly pull out clumps of it to keep it down. My pond is only 10' x 20', so for a larger pond it might be perfect.

wilted lettuce
By Carrie Culp
Normally I would rave about these as they are a great plant.Mine however were delayed by the post office and didn't survive. Not the fault of the seller,he has fabulous quality products. I live in the Mojave desert and postal delays are deadly to plants out here, especially delicate water lettuce.
