IFP Mini Water Hyacinth - Eichornia sp.
I've never been able to grow plants in my small pond and that has included water hyacinth, both regular and this mini. Happily, after getting a lily to grow and spread it's shady leaves across most of my pond, the hyacinth is now growing and looking much better although it hasn't bloomed. I don't find it to be aggressive but then I could barely keep them alive until recently so I'm not sure of it's true character. it's a nice size for my 100 gallon pond.

I bought 2 plants to go in my fish pond OD about 350 or 400 gallons. The plants were very healthy and quickly covered the surface on the pond. If you want fast growing plants to offer sun protection and water cleaning benefits then this plant will do the job. In fact this plant grows so fast I am continually thinning out the plants through the season to give my fish some surface for feeding purposes!

I ordered my pond plants this year, the same ones I got last year and they did not grow. Last year I put them in my pond and they were great! They grew like crazy. this year they were sort of wilty for a month then they perked up a bit but have not grown at all. hmmm, same water source and same place and same fish. not sure what happened but they sure didn't.
